7 regions in Şırnak declared 'temporary special security zones' for 15 days

In a statement issued by the Şırnak Governor's Office, it was announced that 7 regions within the city center and its districts have been declared 'temporary special security zones' between October 14 and 28. The statement read: “In order to ensure national security, protect public order and safety, prevent the commission of crimes, protect fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the rights and freedoms of others and general public order, prevent the occurrence of violent incidents, and forestall any potential negative situations, pursuant to Article 11, paragraph (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 32/A of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565; the Şırnak Governor's Office has declared the following areas as 'Temporary Special Security Zones' for a period of (15) fifteen days between October 14, 2024 (inclusive) and October 28, 2024 (inclusive), to prevent citizens who might travel to these areas from being harmed by illegal elements in said regions and the measures to be taken against them: the Bestler Dereler Region located within the borders of the Central District of Şırnak; the Gabar Mountain Region located within the borders of the Central District and Güçlükonak district of Şırnak; the Cudi Mountain Region located within the borders of the Central District, Silopi, and Cizre districts of Şırnak; the Kurt Mountain Region located within the borders of the Central District, Silopi, and Uludere districts of Şırnak; the Kelmehmetler-Dönmezler-Kovankaya, Tahtareş, Hüsrevpaşa-Suhurpaşayayla, İncebeldağları, and Faraşin Regions located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak; the Altındağları Region located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak; and the Oymakaya Region located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap and Uludere districts of Şırnak, whose coordinate information is available in the table below. 

It is forbidden for our citizens to enter the aforementioned regions without permission between these dates for the sake of their life and property safety. Criminal proceedings will be initiated against those who do not comply with the ban in accordance with Article 66 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442,” the statement said.
