8 suspects have been arrested in connection with the discovery of unexploded hand grenades in Beykoz.

The 9 suspects detained as part of the investigation conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office were referred to the courthouse following their procedures at the police station.

Following their statements at the prosecutor's office, 8 of the suspects were arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace on charges of "unauthorized possession or transfer of dangerous materials" and "violation of Article 12/1-4 of Law No. 6136."

One detained suspect was released under judicial control measures.

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Combat Branch and Counter-Terrorism Branch had conducted a joint operation as part of the investigation initiated by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the discovery of 2 hand grenades on the side of the road at the Kavacık connection of the TEM Highway in Beykoz on September 12.

Security forces apprehended 9 suspects in operations carried out in Şişli and Şile, and searches conducted at the addresses resulted in the seizure of 2 long-barreled weapons, 3 long-barreled weapon magazines, 72 cartridges, 2 bulletproof vests, 4 ski masks, and a stolen vehicle.
