FIRST STATEMENT FROM THEIR LAWYERS
Statement from Adem Bingöl, the lawyer for the 9 released protesters:
The unfair and unlawful decision has been overturned at the end of a week. Even the fact that such an arrest took place simply because they expressed their opinions and thoughts was extremely wrong.
It is a very recent decision; I also convey my best wishes to their families.
WHAT HAPPENED?
While President Erdoğan was delivering the opening speech at the TRT World Forum held at the Istanbul Congress Center, two protesters in the hall had chanted, "Ships are carrying bombs to Gaza."
Erdoğan had responded to the protesters, saying, "My child, do not be the tongue and mouth of the Zionists here. No matter how much you try to provoke this place by being the tongue, mouth, and eyes of the Zionists, you will not get results. The Zionists in the world know very well where Tayyip Erdoğan stands. But you still haven't been able to understand."
