While debates over construction on the Atatürk Forest Farm (AOÇ) continue, the scope of a new ministry building planned for the area has been revealed. The approximately 98,000-square-meter complex features notable private areas reserved for high-level officials.

A new public building has been brought to the agenda on the Atatürk Forest Farm (AOÇ) land. The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) is initiating a tender process for a new service building planned for construction in the Erler neighborhood of Ankara's Etimesgut district for the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
According to a report by Birgün, the tender, announced under the title "Construction of the New Ankara Ministry of Family and Social Services Service Building and Infrastructure and Landscaping Works," is scheduled to take place on October 15. It was announced that the total construction area of the project will be 97,630 square meters.
According to the project, an office of approximately 210 square meters will be reserved for the Minister of Family and Social Services in the ministry building. It was stated that a dining room, a lounge, and a bathroom will be located behind the minister's office.
SECTIONS PLANNED TO BE IN THE BUILDING
In the new complex, lounges have also been planned behind the offices of the four deputy ministers. Additionally, separate offices have been envisioned for 10 ministerial advisors.
It was reported that the building will include separate gyms for men and women, as well as sections such as a market, a shoe repair shop, a hairdresser, a barber, a tailor, a bank, and a VIP waiting room. It was noted that bulletproof windows, doors, and curtain wall systems will be used in some sections as part of the project.
The planting of tree species such as the Lebanon cedar, Himalayan cedar, and Spanish fir is also among the plans for the landscaping to be carried out around the complex.
The area in question had recently come to the agenda with a new zoning plan prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. In the plan, some lands in the Etimesgut Erler neighborhood, which is part of the AOÇ, were allocated to the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and these areas were designated as "official institution areas."
The Planning and Project Branch Directorate of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage, in its opinion regarding the zoning plan, stated that the areas in question fall within the scope of the "Atatürk Forest Farm Natural and Historical Site" and assessed that the use as an official institution area is incompatible with the provisions of the upper-scale plans.
