A sad day for Minister Mehmet Şimşek

Nazmi Şimşek, the older brother of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek and a retired primary school teacher, has passed away in Yalova.

Born in 1945, Nazmi Şimşek began his professional career in the village of Gürgenli in the Sason district of Batman after graduating from teacher training school.

Nazmi Şimşek, who was also the primary school teacher of his brother Mehmet Şimşek, served as a teacher and administrator in various schools in Batman for many years.

Named "Teacher of the Year" in 1988, Şimşek received his award from his former student, Ataullah Hamidi, who was the Mayor of Batman at the time.
