Access to his accounts had been blocked: Murat Ongun speaks out from 'Dark Story'
Murat Ongun, who is currently detained as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has taken a new step following the repeated closure of his social media accounts.

Murat Ongun, the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Medya A.Ş., has been in detention since March 23, 2025, as part of an ongoing case. Ongun, whose social media account was closed during his detention, announced that access to a new account he had opened was also blocked.
After his first account was shut down, the second account he opened was also restricted by the social media platform, leading Ongun to return to the platform with a new username. Ongun announced his new account under the name "Dark Story" (Karanlık Hikaye).
In a post on social media, Ongun stated the following:
"I am Murat Ongun.
I chose this name because my account was blocked whenever my name was written.
Isn't what we are being put through a dark story anyway?
Once again, I look forward to your collective support against brute force. Please follow."
