While the prosecutor requested an acquittal for Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, who had switched from the CHP to the AK Party, they requested that Erkan Karaarslan and certain other defendants be punished for the crimes of "rigging a tender," "rigging the performance of an obligation," and "forgery of official documents."
The court panel granted the parties time to prepare their defense against the prosecutor's opinion and adjourned the hearing until June 11.
