Actor Can Gürzap has passed away

Master actor Can Gürzap, known for productions such as Kurtlar Vadisi, Bir Avuç Deniz, Aşk Beklemez, and Medcezir, has passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

The passing of Gürzap, a State Theater artist who had been active in theater for 52 years, was announced by Armağan Çağlayan. Sharing a photo of the master actor, Çağlayan stated, "May you rest in peace, Can Bey... Find peace."

WHO IS CAN GÜRZAP?

Can Gürzap was an important cinema, theater, and TV actor, writer, and educator born in Istanbul on May 26, 1944. The artist, who received his first theater training from his father Reşit Gürzap, who was also an artist, graduated from the Ankara State Conservatory Theater Department after completing Kadıköy Maarif College in 1962, and studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He served as a director and actor at the Ankara State Theater.

He taught classes as a teacher at the conservatory. He prepared many radio plays for the radio at TRT. He married Arsen Gürzap in 1971. In 1978, he became the founding director of the Istanbul State Theater. The artist, who also worked as a translator and screenwriter, founded "Dialog" in 1990, which provides training in correct, beautiful, and impressive speech.

Over the years, Dialog became one of the most important institutions providing training in this field. He taught at this institution for many years. He took part in feature films and TV series.

Kartallar Yüksek Uçar, Ateşten Günler, Yorgun Savaşçı, Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, and Medcezir were some of the TV series in which Can Gürzap starred.
