ADD: 'Our motto is singular and unchanging: Either Independence, or Death!'

The ADD Headquarters issued a written statement titled "Our motto is singular and unchanging: Either Independence, or Death!" regarding the remarks of PKK terrorist organization leader Öcalan and the subsequent process.

The statement noted the following:

"Turkey was imprisoned in a neoliberal exploitation order under US supervision through the efforts of Evren and Özal following the fascist coup of September 12, 1980; it narrowly escaped de facto occupation when the March 1, 2003, motion was rejected in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) due to the firm stance of the CHP and a significant number of AKP deputies who resisted intense pressure from Erdoğan and Gül at the cost of paying a price; since 2003, it has fallen into the clutches of the imperialist 21st-century Sèvres, the Greater Middle East Project (BOP), and has been diverted from its founding philosophy and Atatürk's path of reason and science through a step-by-step counter-revolution.

Finally, it has been an unacceptable and grave error for the political power to engage with the leader of the PKK—an organization established by imperialism with the aim of transforming our secular republic into a puppet religious state, dismantling our national unity, and dividing our country—and to request that he speak in the TBMM; his statement has only deepened this gravity.

It is truly shameful for the reputation of our state and our national honor that this organization, which was rendered incapable of action in 1999 by breaking its internal and external support, was on the verge of collapse with the capture of its leader, and was in a state of paralysis in the 'terror-free Turkey' of 2002 when the AKP came to power, has now reached a position after 41 years where it is negotiating, or even bargaining, to lay down its arms.

As such, the terrorist leader was able to imply that his organization was not defeated, but had completed its lifespan (implicitly achieving its goal). He was able to arrogantly claim that terrorism was created by the state's 'extreme nationalist drift.' With the audacity to define the PKK as the longest-running 'rebellion movement' in Republican history, he was able to overstep his bounds by miles, attempting in his own mind to legitimize himself, his organization, its extensions, and its masters.

For some reason, with the call to lay down arms (!) read first in Kurdish and then in Turkish, the secular and unitary Nation-State structure under Constitutional protection, the Enlightenment Revolutions, Atatürk's Nationalism, and Linguistic Unity—alongside the unchangeable articles of the Constitution, specifically Articles 42 and 66—were openly targeted, and the crime of violating the constitution was committed brazenly before the eyes of millions and state officials.

While our lieutenant sons, the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal, are being dismissed, and political party leaders, academics, journalists, unionists, mayors, and even fortune tellers are being arrested and thrown into dungeons on forced charges without jail time, it is incomprehensible that those who commit this clear constitutional violation and those who permit it are not only left unprosecuted but are also applauded.

The clamor of pro-government channels shouting 'Hooray, terrorism is over' and the praise for the 'creator of a terror-free Turkey' by the 'Yetmez Ama Evet' (Not Enough But Yes) supporters and Second Republican simpletons we know well are, of course, no surprise; however, it has been alarming to see that some politicians have failed to correctly evaluate the statement and the accompanying short note. The terrorist leader is not content with the irrational and unscientific expressions in the main text, which appears to be in full harmony with the BOP map aimed at dividing Turkey, such as 'The nation-state cannot respond to the sociology of society. Nationalism is a drift. Extreme nationalist drift has closed the channels of democratic politics.' He also sends a note, commanding, 'While presenting this perspective, it undoubtedly requires the laying down of arms in practice, democratic politics, and the recognition of the legal dimension,' thereby equating himself and his organization with the state, setting conditions, and revealing his true intention (or his master's intention) hidden between the lines of the main text. What is most striking is that the statement does not mention Syria even once, and does not even name the KCK, the umbrella organization of terrorist groups operating under the names PKK in Turkey, PYD/YPG in Syria, PJAK in Iran, and PÇDK in Iraq, of which he is the leader. Indeed, PYD leader Mazlum Abdi stated on the very first day that the call did not cover them. In this case, it is a necessity for state officials to explain to our nation their thoughts on the Unitary Nation-State, Secular Republic, Atatürk's Nationalism, Enlightenment Revolutions, Democratic Politics, and Linguistic Unity; the content of the legal dimension that needs to be recognized; which articles of the Constitution and which laws it relates to; where the US stands in this perspective; and what the roadmap regarding the KCK will be, and they must do so immediately.

On the other hand, the statement becomes even more interesting when read alongside certain remarks by AKP leader Erdoğan and DEM co-chair Bakırhan.

In Erdoğan's speeches, claims are frequently made that the 100-year-old game has been broken and that the 80-year history of the Republic has been painful; the word 'revolution,' which is jargon for establishing a new state, is voiced in the sentence 'The AKP government was realized with an Anatolian revolution,' and for some time, the terminology of 'Turks, Kurds, Arabs' has been used in the context of the Ummah. It is truly tear-jerking that Tuncer Bakırhan accompanies this with the fervor of the Çanakkale spirit. It is seen that Binali Yıldırım with his generosity (!) of 'We can remove Turkishness from the Constitution,' and Mehmet Metiner with his magnanimity (!) of 'Anatolia is also the homeland of the Syrians,' and some People's Alliance spokespersons are supporting this camaraderie that whets their appetite for a 'New Constitution.' In this case, it should not be seen as paranoia to wonder if these discourses, which align with the statement, are hinting at 'a search for a new federal state on the axis of a Turk-Kurd-Arab (and perhaps other ethnicities) union, intended to be served with the Misak-ı Milli sweetener and the packaging of Malazgirt to Çanakkale?' Especially if one considers that a few years ago an AKP official said, 'Whether you want it or not, we are establishing a new state,' another confessed, 'We worked with the US and FETÖ to end military tutelage,' and a retired general who is a presidential advisor organized a congress for an ASRİKA Islamic state with Arabic as its language and Istanbul as its capital, such initiatives should not be overlooked at all.

Since the call for the PKK to dissolve itself was made as a result of negotiations conducted under the supervision of the government and led by a deputy with the title of Deputy Speaker of the TBMM, the following questions now await answers: Is the US-fed PYD-YPG, which has been almost turned into a state right under our noses with its 80-100 thousand trained and equipped armed force that already includes PKK terrorists, and whose name has been changed to SDF, still a terrorist organization for Turkey? If it is a terrorist organization, will there be a struggle or negotiation? And will it one day be said that 'the PYD-YPG is not a terrorist organization'?

'THE ATATÜRK REPUBLIC AGAIN'

It must not be forgotten; if the price of a 'terror-free Turkey' means admitting 'We failed' and causing our martyrs' bones to ache, our nation will say 'we don't want it, keep it.' If the price of a 'terror-free Turkey' is the strengthening of the BOP map, the institutionalization of a US-backed terrorist state on our southern border, and the granting of citizenship to millions more refugees who are destroying our demographic structure, our nation will say 'we don't want it, keep it.' If the price of a 'terror-free Turkey' is the recognition of the 'legal dimension' for terrorists who have murdered thousands of our soldiers, police officers, teachers, and citizens, allowing them to engage in 'democratic politics,' our nation will say 'we don't want it, keep it.'

And no one should forget; the Republic of Turkey is a secular and unitary nation-state and will remain forever. 'The Republic of Turkey... is a democratic, secular, and social state governed by the rule of law, loyal to Atatürk's nationalism and based on the fundamental principles stated in the beginning,' and it will continue as such. 'The State of Turkey is an indivisible whole with its territory and nation. Its language is Turkish...', this cannot be debated. All Atatürk principles and revolutions, including Atatürk's Nationalism, are the founding philosophy of our state and the keystone of our Republic; they cannot be abandoned. 'The people of Turkey who founded the Republic of Turkey are called the Turkish Nation.' The Kemalist Thought Association considers it a duty to share with the public once again that the only way out is to reach the Atatürk Republic Again, by hanging the honor of Kemalism like a fog bell over the skies of our homeland together with our nation."
