After Bahçeli, a call to the PKK from Barzani as well

Following the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli to the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, to "declare that the organization will be unilaterally liquidated," a similar statement came from Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

Speaking to the Erbil-based television channel k24, Barzani addressed the operations conducted by Turkey against the presence of the terrorist organization PKK in Iraq.

"Turkey is fighting against the PKK, not against us. The presence of the PKK is the reason for this war," said Barzani, adding, "If we want this war to stop and if the PKK claims to represent Kurdishness, it should end this war."

Noting that the terrorist organization PKK does not recognize the KRG administration, Barzani stated that the terrorist organization does not allow the local people to go to their villages and fields, and continued his statement as follows:

"The PKK sees itself as the ruler of those places, it extorts money from our people, causes problems for our people, and kidnaps our youth. This is not a one-sided problem; it is a very deep issue. As a government, we have prevented the war from coming further inside. If it were up to the PKK, it would have moved the war to Duhok, Zakho, and our other cities. The Peshmerga has formed a line to prevent the PKK from advancing further. Currently, services cannot be provided to hundreds of our villages because the war is ongoing. The PKK does not listen to us in any way."
