Following the Kılıçdaroğlu administration's cancellation of expulsion decisions, 'Özkan Yalım' comes to mind: Statement from Mahir Polat

Mahir Polat, who was elected to the High Disciplinary Board under Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the head of the CHP by a decision of absolute nullity, stated regarding Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, "He was expelled after submitting his resignation letter. There is no such situation as 'we have pardoned Yalım'."

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed as CHP Chairman by court order, attended the first meeting of the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) today. CHP İzmir Deputy Mahir Polat was elected as the board chair. During the meeting, all expulsions issued following the 2023 party congress, which was subject to a decision of absolute nullity, were cancelled. It was stated that this decision could pave the way for Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım to return to the CHP.

According to the report by Mahir Kılıç from Habertürk, Polat said, "Özkan Yalım submitted a resignation letter on April 28. Our party recorded this letter in the General Secretariat records on April 29. Our colleagues, however, had taken the expulsion decision on May 2."

Making a statement regarding the decision, CHP YDK Chair Mahir Polat said that Özkan Yalım would not be able to return to party membership.

Polat said, "Our colleagues who were serving at that time were late regarding the expulsion of Özkan Yalım. They took an expulsion decision afterwards against a person who had already resigned. The CHP High Disciplinary Board stands behind our Chairman's statements regarding purification and returning to old values; let no one have any doubt about this. There is no such situation as 'we have pardoned Özkan Yalım'. He had already resigned; a separate decision was taken about him afterwards."
