Afyonkarahisar Mayor Köksal responds to claims she will leave CHP: 'It's all water off a duck's back'

In response to claims that she would resign from the CHP, Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal stated, "I am an Atatürk nationalist; I am a member of the Republican People's Party who is so devoted to my state, my homeland, my nation, and my flag that I would give my life for them. If there is no room left to engage in politics within the party, I will open a new space for myself within this party again. In the past, they kicked me out the door and I came in through the chimney; I will enter through the chimney again if necessary. The rest is water off a duck's back."

Köksal stated that the allegations were baseless and made a statement on her social media account.

Burcu Köksal used the following expressions:

"On social media, some trolls are writing and drawing that I will engage in politics in another party.

I am addressing those trolls from here: You only exist as much as the fee you receive. Success does not come by coincidence.

I have worked and struggled throughout my life. Positions were not presented to me on golden platters. I have reached this point by sacrificing my home, my family, and my friends.

During my time as a deputy, I was threatened with the life of my child. Today, those who cannot obtain benefits from the municipality are attacking with troll teams.

I am a child of the Republican People's Party founded by Atatürk. I am an Atatürk nationalist; I am a member of the Republican People's Party who is so devoted to my state, my homeland, my nation, and my flag that I would give my life for them.
