Ağıralioğlu's statement on presidential candidacy: 'I am more ambitious than anyone whose name is mentioned'

Anahtar Party Chairman Yavuz Ağıralioğlumade evaluations regarding the discussions on presidential candidacy. Stating that all political party leaders can be considered as presidential candidates unless they declare otherwise, Ağıralioğlu said for himself "I am more ambitious than anyone whose name is mentioned for the presidency" However, noting that it is still early for candidacy, Ağıralioğlu used the expression, "A lot of water will flow under these bridges" he said.

Ağıralioğlu made evaluations regarding Turkey's political agenda, the economy, presidential candidacy, the fight against terrorism, and the constitutional order.

"I AM MORE AMBITIOUS THAN ANYONE WHOSE NAME IS MENTIONED"

Evaluating his own position regarding presidential candidacy, Ağıralioğlu said that all political party leaders can be considered as presidential candidates unless they declare otherwise.

Ağıralioğlu said, "As a son who has sworn to serve the nation in the name of this responsibility, I am more ambitious than anyone whose name is mentioned for the presidency. But I am not a person who would let my own career plan or ambition hinder the horizon of the country."

Stating that it is still an early stage for candidacy, Ağıralioğlu said, "It is too early. A lot of water will flow under these bridges. We will look at the candidates. There is rationality, there is reality, there is the smile of the nation. We will look at all of these. After that, we will do what is best for our nation."

"WE DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE TABLOID SIDE OF POLITICS"

Stating that politics should focus on the problems experienced by citizens rather than individuals and candidacy discussions, Ağıralioğlu expressed that the discussions carried out over presidential candidacy should not determine the political agenda.

Recalling the statements of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who said, "I am focused on my job. There is no election date at the moment," Ağıralioğlu said that this approach prioritizes the country's current problems.

Stating that reducing politics to the "Who will be the President?" debate turns politics into a tabloid issue, Ağıralioğlu spoke as follows:

"The country has problems, let's talk about the system. In other words, let's not talk about individuals. A discussion like 'Who will be the candidate against Tayyip Bey?' turns politics into a tabloid issue. If we make ourselves prone to this tabloidization, we drag our party into these matters and show disrespect to the nation. If someone took their own life yesterday saying 'I cannot make ends meet,' this is what politics should feel responsible for. Leaving the country's problems aside and talking about 'Who will be the President?' would be a disrespect to the problems the nation is suffering from."

Stating that politics should focus on the country's problems instead of personal goals, Ağıralioğlu said, "We are not a party cadre. We are a community of patriots, we are a community of the children of this country. We will lift the country up. We do not have a party anxiety in this will to lift it up; we have a country anxiety. Politics starts the day with a concentration of 'Let me defeat my opponent.' We are running to 'Let us overcome the country's problems.'"

STATEMENT REGARDING THE FUND INVESTIGATION

Stating that those responsible for the fund manipulation should be uncovered and the process should be conducted transparently, Ağıralioğlu said that in the process in question, "who received what and what kind of mechanism was operated" should be revealed.

Ağıralioğlu said, "If the entire list is announced, what was abused in this mechanism? How were the sensors turned off? How were so many irregularities committed? Who benefited from these irregularities? The society has the right to know this."

EMPHASIS ON THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM

Speaking about the fight against terrorism and the political processes being carried out, Ağıralioğlu explained the Anahtar Party's approach to this issue.

Ağıralioğlu said, "We have concerns. We do not see touching terrorism, walking with terrorists, or negotiating with terrorism as legitimate."

Explaining his party's approach to the constitutional order and the unitary structure, Ağıralioğlu used the following expressions:

"Not touching terrorism, not walking with terrorists, not seeing negotiation with terrorism as legitimate; it means being able to protect the Republic, being able to preserve the Republic and its load-bearing columns, that is, our unitary structure, being able to preserve our national integrity, our state integrity, the official language and constitutional citizenship, being able to preserve the 86 million as the Turkish nation."

"OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IS SEPARATE, MOTHER TONGUE IS SEPARATE"

Drawing attention to the distinction between mother tongue and official language, Ağıralioğlu said that the existence of different mother tongues in Turkey should be evaluated separately from the issue of the official language.

Saying "Our official language is separate, mother tongue is separate," Ağıralioğlu stated, "There is and can be such a thing as a mother tongue. But the official language is one. In a unitary state, the official language is Turkish. We will also protect this sensitivity."

Touching upon the importance of the first four articles of the Constitution, Ağıralioğlu argued that these articles are the "password to keep the 86 million together."

Stating that citizenship is a legal status, Ağıralioğlu said, "There is never such a thing as identity denial, assimilation, or anything like that for anyone. Such a thing does not happen in this country. No one's identity is denied; neither their color, nor their sect, nor their creed is denied."

"THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY MUST PROTECT THE 86 MILLION"

Stating that the President should bear the responsibility not only for those who voted for him but for all citizens, Ağıralioğlu spoke as follows:

"You will protect the integrity of the nation. You will protect the uniqueness of the state, the integrity of the state. You will protect the Constitution, you will protect the law, you will protect your people. You will protect not only those who voted for you, but also those who did not vote for you, everyone who is your citizen. In other words, you will protect these 86 million like your own family."
