The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that a 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred in Elazığ at 03:25. It was announced that the tremor occurred at a depth of 13.83 kilometers.

While the earthquake, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, caused brief panic, all eyes turned to expert figures.

"The small earthquake with a magnitude of M4.7 that occurred today at 03:25 in Elazığ at a depth of 5 km is not destructive. This earthquake is an expected aftershock of the M6.8 Sivrice earthquake. A larger one would be surprising. No problem."
