Geophysicist Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan has reacted to the projects announced by Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate for the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, regarding a potential Istanbul earthquake.

In a post on his X account, Ercan reminded Kurum of the promises he made for the earthquake zone.

"Murat, leave Istanbul alone; the earthquake zone is waiting for you to keep your promises," Ercan said, adding, "We can manage here; please go to the earthquake zone for our brothers and sisters who have experienced the earthquake and are asking for help. Finish your unfinished business first. Come on, my dear brother."
