The 39th International Ankara Music Festival, held in Ankara, began with a magnificent opening. On the first night of the festival, world-renowned German cellist Benedict Kloeckner presented a musical feast to art lovers in the capital. The artist was accompanied by the Ankara Festival Orchestra, conducted by Orhun Orhon.
Another notable event of the night was the attendance of the 10th President, Ahmet Necdet Sezer, at the concert. The 83-year-old Sezer, who has been living a life away from the cameras for a long time, was thus seen in public for the first time in a long while.

The festival's opening concert drew significant interest not only from art lovers but also from well-known figures in politics and cultural life. Among those attending the concert were Özden Toker, daughter of the 2nd President İsmet İnönü and President of the İnönü Foundation; Gülsün Bilgehan, Vice President of the İnönü Foundation; and renowned orchestra conductors Gürer Aykal and Rengim Gökmen.
