Ahmet Zeki Üçok calls on Chief of General Staff to resign with these words: 'This would be a reaction'

Appearing as a guest on the program "12'den" with Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu, Dr. Ahmet Zeki Üçok evaluated the "sword oath" incident on the agenda and the subsequent dismissal process.

Stating that the lieutenants are facing dismissal from the army for saying "We are Mustafa Kemal's soldiers," Üçok criticized the Chief of General Staff for not defending the lieutenants who reached the stage of dismissal for expressing their loyalty to Atatürk, and called on Gürak to resign.

Retired military judge Dr. Ahmet Zeki Üçok pointed out that the person who should have been dismissed from the army was actually the "turbaned admiral" Mehmet Sarı, but that Sarı was retired with all his rights intact.

Üçok spoke as follows:

The turbaned admiral wore the clothes of his own religious order, and dozens of photos were seen, yet this was ignored. Mr. Yaşar Güler said regarding the investigation process of the lieutenants, "We uncovered this incident, which took place on August 30, in 2 months and 12 days."

Well, Mr. Güler, you questioned hundreds of people in this case, the lieutenants are a large group... You examined dozens of images in 2 months and 12 days... On the other hand, for the turbaned admiral, there is only one suspect and three or five photos; why did the investigation into this take more than a year and end up statute-barred? This man is currently continuing his daily life as a retired admiral from the Turkish Armed Forces.

Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu: So they protected the turbaned admiral.

Of course, that is what happened... I believe Mr. Güler has good intentions because he graduated from this military academy, studied here for years, and lived the same spirit... Our Chief of General Staff is from the class of '81, he graduated in the 100th anniversary year of Atatürk's birth, he is my classmate, and we are proud of this! We consider ourselves the most Kemalist class...

The Chief of General Staff and the Land Forces Commander are also his classmates; both are the two commanders of the most Kemalist class. Before their eyes, lieutenants are being dismissed for saying "We are Atatürk's soldiers," and neither of them lifts a finger; this is unacceptable! You say, "I don't have the power to stop this," and then you resign!

This happened before during the Balyoz-Ergenekon period; Toruntay resigned.

This would be a reaction. The Chief of General Staff of this country should come out and say, "If a man is being dismissed because he said, 'I am a commander of Atatürk's army, I am a Kemalist,' then I will oppose this, and if I cannot succeed in opposing it, I will resign." But unfortunately, we have not seen any of this from them....
