Akın Gürlek announces: Critical appointments at the HSK

Important appointments have been made in the judiciary ahead of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors' (HSK) summer decree. By decision of the HSK, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor Gökhan Karaköse was elected as a member of the Court of Cassation, while Gülten Hatipoğlu and Recep Yılmaz Korkmaz were elected as members of the Council of State.
Announcing the appointments, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek congratulated Karaköse, Hatipoğlu, and Korkmaz in a post on his social media account and wished them success in their new roles. Gürlek stated his belief that these individuals would make significant contributions to the high judiciary with the knowledge and experience they have gained at various levels of the judicial organization.
Meanwhile, Gökhan Karaköse, who was elected as a member of the Court of Cassation, also bid farewell to his post as Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor with a message published on his social media account. Thanking President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, previous Ministers of Justice, and HSK members for their support during his tenure, Karaköse expressed the sadness of leaving the courthouse where he had served as an intern years ago.
Karaköse also issued a statement conveying his best wishes to the chief prosecutor who will take over the position.
"Due to my election as a member of the Court of Cassation, the time has come to bid farewell to our courthouse... I would like to express my gratitude to our esteemed President, whose trust and support I have always felt during my time as Chief Public Prosecutor in our capital. Likewise, I would like to extend my thanks to our Minister of Justice, our previous Ministers of Justice, our Deputy Ministers, and the esteemed department heads and members of our Council of Judges and Prosecutors.''
