AKOM announces the date when the sun will return to Istanbul
As temperatures in Istanbul dropped below 10 degrees due to a cold wave coming from the Balkans, IMM AKOM announced the date when the precipitation will end and spring weather will return.

Instead of the spring weather expected in April, Turkey has entered the influence of a cold and rainy system coming from the Balkans. The air wave, which moved through Belarus and crossed the Balkans, entered the country as of April 8.
COLD WEATHER HAS TAKEN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY UNDER ITS INFLUENCE
According to meteorological data, temperatures have dropped significantly with the system affecting the whole of Turkey. A weather pattern reminiscent of winter conditions has emerged, especially in Istanbul. With temperatures dropping to the 10-degree level, rainy and cold days have begun to be experienced in the city.
TEMPERATURES IN ISTANBUL DROPPED TO SINGLE DIGITS
The highest temperature in Istanbul during the day was measured at 12 degrees. Towards the evening hours, the air temperature dropped to 8 degrees and intermittent showers were effective. At night, thermometers are expected to drop to 7 degrees.
According to the data shared by IMM AKOM, this cold wave will continue its effect until Monday and temperatures will hover close to winter values.
FRIDAY IS THE HARSHES DAY OF THE WEEK
According to forecasts, Friday, April 10, will be the coldest day of the week. It is stated that while temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 10 degrees on this day, strong showers that could reach up to 10 kilograms per square meter will be effective.
CHANGE BEGINS WITH THE WEEKEND
As of Saturday, April 11, precipitation is expected to leave Istanbul and the weather is expected to take on a partly cloudy appearance. With this development, the first signs of a transition to spring conditions will be seen.
THE SUN RETURNS ON MONDAY
With the new week, there will be a significant change in weather conditions in Istanbul. While temperatures are projected to rise to 16 degrees on Monday, they are expected to reach 17 degrees on Tuesday and 18 degrees on Wednesday. During this period, it is estimated that precipitation will end completely.

“As of today, almost the entire country, especially Istanbul, is coming under the influence of cold and rainy weather coming from the Balkans. Due to the system expected to be effective in our region throughout the week, it is estimated that there will be intermittent showers and temperatures will hover close to winter values in the 10-12°C range until the beginning of the new week (Monday).”
