AKOM issues warning with specific times: Snow is coming to Istanbul

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has warned that the precipitation expected in the city over the weekend is anticipated to turn into snow starting Sunday evening, with local heavy snowfall possible until Monday afternoon.

In a statement made by the IBB's AKOM, it was noted that cold and rainy weather arriving from the Balkans is expected to affect the Marmara Region, particularly Istanbul, throughout the weekend.
It was stated that the precipitation, which appeared as rain yesterday, is expected to turn into sleet on Sunday (today) and snow starting from the evening hours.
In the statement by AKOM, which issued a warning for heavy snowfall and storms for tomorrow, the following expressions were included:
"It is estimated that the precipitation, which is expected to increase in intensity across the province starting from the early hours (05:00) of Monday (tomorrow), may be effective as locally heavy snowfall throughout the day, accompanied by northerly winds blowing as a storm (30-60 km/h)."
