Participating in the debate, DEM Party Batman MP Zeynep Oduncu argued that the prevalence of illegal construction is the responsibility not only of the public but also of the administration. Oduncu stated, "Before blaming the public, the governor should look at his own management approach."

Finally, the Batman Governor's Office issued a harsh statement addressing both Zeynep Oduncu's criticisms and the contractors who build illegal structures. The Governor's Office stated that the fight against illegal structures is not merely a zoning issue but is of vital importance for public safety and the healthy development of the city. Emphasizing that "illegal construction will not be tolerated," it was stated that contractors must also comply with certain rules.
