AKP Manisa Provincial Chair Süleyman Turgut and MHP Manisa Provincial Chair Cüneyt Tosuner, announced that no candidates will be fielded in the mayoral election to be held on December 19 following the passing of Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay.announced that they would not field candidates.

Tosuner stated that as the MHP, they are acting with state seriousness, respect for democracy, and out of respect for Gülşah Durbay's memory.stating that they would act out of respect, they said, "Our councilmembers will support the candidate put forward by the Republican People's Party.
