AKP delegation also attended the funeral of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Haniyeh

Hamas leader Haniyeh, who was killed in an assassination, was laid to rest today (August 2, 2024) in Doha, the capital of Qatar, following a funeral ceremony held in Tehran yesterday. In addition to Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş, Vice President Yılmaz, and Foreign Minister Fidan, an AKP delegation also attended the funeral.

A funeral ceremony was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, for Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Haniyeh's body, which was brought to Qatar from Tehran yesterday evening, was taken to the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque. A funeral ceremony was held there for Haniyeh following Friday prayers.

The funeral prayer, led by Ali al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, was attended by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, MIT Chief İbrahim Kalın, representatives from political parties, and members of parliament.

AKP Istanbul Provincial Deputy Chairman Fahri Şahin shared a video of the AKP delegation after the funeral with the message, "We performed our final duty to our martyr in Doha."
