Praise for Çerçioğlu from AKP's Seda Sarıbaş: She had torn up her speech in the past

AKP Aydın deputies and party officials visited Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, who resigned from the Republican People's Party (CHP) to join the AKP. Addressing the crowd gathered in front of the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality service building after the visit, Çerçioğlu said, "As mayor, I do not have any party badge. I have treated everyone fairly and equally, and I will continue to do so from now on. My forehead is clear, my head is held high. Let no one have any concerns about this."

AKP Aydın deputies Mustafa Savaş, Seda Sarıbaş, and Ömer Özmen, AKP MKYK member Mehmet Umut Tuncer, and the AKP Aydın Provincial Organization paid a congratulatory visit to Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, who joined the AKP after resigning from the CHP. In addition to Çerçioğlu, Sultanhisar Mayor Osman Yıldırımkaya, Söke Mayor Mustafa İberya Arıkan, and Yenipazar Mayor Malik Ercan, who also joined the AKP, were present at the visit. Party members gathered in front of the municipal building and carried signs reading, 'Aydın with Özlem, will tear down the rent!', 'Özgür, you are not in our political caliber!', and 'Özlem in service, AKP in power'.

Greeting the party members gathered in front of the municipal service building, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu stated that she would continue to serve the people of Aydın even more than she has until now, saying, "Let no one have any concerns about this. I am a local politician. Our deputies handle the politics in Ankara. As mayor, I do not have any party badge. I have treated everyone fairly and equally, and I will continue to do so from now on. My forehead is clear, my head is held high. Let no one have any concerns about this. I have no fear of anything. There is no place in this Aydın that I have not traveled inch by inch. I know best where pipes pass and what goes where. Have full faith that we will carry out the services we will provide from now on in the best way possible with the support of our very valuable deputies and you," she said.

"ONE SIDE OF US WAS MISSING"

AKP Aydın Deputy Mustafa Savaş stated that the AKP is Turkey's largest family, saying, "The AKP is also a political party that has shared a common destiny, path, and cause with a love for serving Turkey. I would like to express once again that I am happy that our Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu has joined us. We will always be by her side from now on. I want to express that we will bring our work and service politics, and AKP municipalism, together in Aydın. We have achieved very important services in our province since 2002. Under the leadership of our President, we have provided 500 billion in services to Aydın to date. However, one side of us was missing, and that side is now complete," he said.

Yesterday, they held a rally here in the square by gathering people from the Aegean and Marmara regions by force.
