AKP district chair in standoff with gendarmerie: Allegations of 'insulting behavior'

The AKP district chair, who was stopped during a gendarmerie security check, entered into an argument with the personnel on duty, claiming he was being given a hard time.

A tense situation occurred during a security check conducted by the Beylikova District Gendarmerie Command teams around 11:00 PM on August 4, 2025.

Tense moments occurred during a gendarmerie check in Beylikova. It is alleged that AKP District Chair H.Ö. insulted gendarmerie personnel. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

According to a report in Cumhuriyet, AKP Beylikova District Chair H.Ö., who arrived at the checkpoint, caused difficulties for the gendarmerie teams.

It is alleged that H.Ö., who reportedly launched a verbal attack against Petty Officer H., who was assigned to the district about two months ago, and other personnel, used expressions such as, "Do you know who I am? You are being difficult, you are filth, you are showing off, you idiot, you ill-mannered, rude person."

It was learned that some parts of the incident were captured on the gendarmerie personnel's body cameras. While the personnel who stated they were insulted filed a complaint, it was reported that the Beylikova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

Furthermore, it is claimed that H.Ö. said to the gendarmerie personnel during the check, "You don't catch those selling drugs in Beylikova, you stop us." Officials, however, stated that the Beylikova District Gendarmerie Command is actively involved in the fight against drugs and has brought drug activity in the district to the point of eradication.
