AKP issues 'time to say stop' call to criticisms of 'terror-free Turkey' process: CHP is looking for ways to back out

AKP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş attended the July assembly meeting of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking there, Elitaş said, "In times when Turks, Kurds, and Arabs were one, the synergy and influence of this geography had reached an unstoppable point. Some people stood up and said, 'If you define ethnic identities this way, you are preparing the ground for this in Turkey.' 

Their horizons are so narrow, their perspectives are so limited, that there is a veil over their eyes. They have cataracts. There is a mentality that cannot see 3 minutes ahead, 3 days ahead. Either there is a defect in their eyes, or they are ignoring it because there is a defect in their mentality.

There is a thousand-year-old unity we have established with Kurds in Northern Iraq, Kurds within Syria, and within Turkey. Most of us have become relatives. Instead of playing into the hands of those who create divisions to meet those people, we must realize that it is time to say 'stop' to the rhetoric of some parties in parliament that stirs all of our emotions through ethnic identity, and that we must ensure the hearts of 86 million beat as one.

The responsibility to explain these things belongs to you. If we believe it is right for 86 million to be one body, and we do not explain this as best we can, the burden is yours. If we think about this for the sake of brotherhood, so that there are no more martyrs in Turkey, so that no more homes are set on fire, so that children are not left without mothers and fathers, and so that our security forces do not become veterans, we must do whatever is necessary from now on. Our emotions may be stirred. Representatives of the terrorist organization may say, 'We want this too, we will sit at the table with such negotiations.'

I am saying it clearly and plainly. The Republic of Turkey is doing its best for a terror-free Turkey. There is no bargaining, no promises, and no commitments. Our only goal was for weapons to be laid down and for the terrorist organization to self-destruct. Weapons were laid down and burned. The terrorist organization also dissolved itself," he said.

"CHP IS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO BACK OUT"

Elitaş said, "Regarding the commission to be established in parliament, the MHP announced its first member. The CHP first said 'okay.' Now they are saying 'we need to be equal.' They are looking for ways to back out. What good can it do anyone to engage in politics through terror, the PKK, terrorists, and martyrs?

What contribution can it make to this country? Instead of acting to find the best result, instead of worrying about 'will I be an ineffective element here,' they should be thinking about 'how can I contribute.' Unfortunately, we know the periods the CHP has gone through.

Everything done regarding their parties and mayors is CHP members complaining about each other. Imagine a political party where 200 out of 1,200 delegates changed their votes in exchange for a price.

There is such fragility within them. I advise Mr. Özgür. I implore him to continue with his youth and dynamism, not with demagoguery and inciting people to take to the streets, but by directing people in Turkey toward production, being one and together, and recommending peace," he stated.
