A social media post made by former AKP deputy Metin Külünk in 2018 has resurfaced.
In his post, Külünk stated, "If there is anyone who says you cannot hold a representative office without a diploma, they should read the history of the Prophets. Great struggles are carried by heroes without diplomas whose names are not heard, but who have heart and sincerity."
In his post dated April 2, 2018, Külünk argued that politics is not done with a diploma, stating that representative office requires not only documents but also a struggle that comes from the heart.
The message Külünk posted at the time included the following statements:
“Politics is not done with a diploma.
A diploma is only a piece for a man of struggle who touches the heart. If there is anyone who says you cannot hold a representative office without a diploma, they should read the history of the Prophets.
Great struggles are carried by heroes without diplomas whose names are not heard, but who have heart and sincerity.”
The post in question has become a topic of discussion on social media again alongside current debates.
