AKP Mayor shuts off microphone of CHP council member!

AKP Gelibolu Mayor Ali Kamil Soyuak did not allow a CHP member to finish their speech at the municipal council meeting.

According to a report in Birgün, CHP Council Spokesperson Deniz Cankara, speaking at the Gelibolu Municipal Council, criticized AKP Mayor Soyuak. Cankara told Soyuak, whom he accused of not following the law, "You are playing AKP politics; you know you won't be put on trial."

Cankara stated that those who extort money from citizens in this country are not put on trial, while young people who exercise their constitutional rights are.

AKP Mayor Soyuak claimed that Cankara was speaking off-agenda and had his microphone shut off. Following this obstruction, Soyuak said, "Best of luck."
