AKP's Efkan Ala visits Sırrı Süreyya Önder: 'Turkey has become one heart'

Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder was hospitalized on the evening of April 15 due to a heart condition, and his treatment continues in the intensive care unit following his surgery. AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala visited Sırrı Süreyya Önder to receive information about his health status.

Following the visit, Efkan Ala made a statement to members of the press.

"TURKEY HAS BECOME ONE HEART"

"From the very beginning of the process, Turkey has become one heart. We, our President, and our Ministry of Trade have done everything that needed to be done in a timely manner," said Ala, adding, "Now, all our prayers and all our wishes are with him. We hope that the heart of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, which has always beaten to keep others alive until today, will from now on beat to keep him alive."

Ala continued as follows:

"Our prayers are with him. We are not in a position to make a statement regarding his health status. I can say this: according to the information we have received, his condition remains stable. Of course, this issue is always risky. Therefore, it is necessary to follow the assessments of our healthcare workers and professors. However, we are reassured by the performance put forth by all the hospital staff, with the understanding that 'everyone has done their best.' Our prayers and wishes are for him to regain his health in a short time. May his heart continue his own life from now on. I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to him once again, and I pray for the next phase of the process to develop in his favor."
