Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir, who was detained by the Istanbul Police this morning, was taken from his home and brought in for questioning upon the instructions of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Epözdemir faces charges of bribery, political and military espionage, and aiding FETÖ. The Istanbul Police seized digital materials during searches conducted at Epözdemir's home and workplace and placed a travel ban on his passport due to four separate charges.

"150 THOUSAND DOLLAR RELEASE CONSPIRACY" CLAIM

AKP member Şamil Tayyar claimed in a post on his social media account that Rezan Epözdemir is accused of securing the release of a detainee in exchange for 150 thousand dollars. Tayyar wrote, "In one of the complaints filed with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it is alleged that Rezan Epözdemir is accused of obtaining a release order for a detainee in exchange for 150 thousand dollars."

In his post, Tayyar stated that he would not go into the details of the testimony but noted that there was a name that stood out: "Cengiz Çallı. He was a prosecutor and is being tried for bribery. His case is at the Court of Cassation," he stated. The name of Cengiz Çallı had previously come to the agenda as a prosecutor accused of bribery.

According to journalist İsmail Saymaz, in the investigation conducted against Rezan Epözdemir, Epözdemir is accused of aiding FETÖ, engaging in political and military espionage, and accepting bribes. Additionally, digital materials were seized during the searches.
