AKP's Tayyar: Akın Gürlek has filed a 1 million lira compensation lawsuit against Özgür Özel

Tayyar shared the details of his meeting with Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek on a live broadcast. Tayyar stated, "When I asked why he wasn't responding to the high-profile statements Özgür Özel has been making for some time, he said, 'I have instructions from our President. I am remaining silent in accordance with this instruction. He told me, 'Do not engage in polemics, and do not take Özgür Özel seriously.'"

AKP member Şamil Tayyar made statements regarding his meeting today with Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek on TGRT Haber, a channel known for its proximity to the government.

"Akın Gürlek sends his regards to you all. He said he watches our program and that we are performing an important duty. There is heavy visitor traffic, like a shrine visit. When I asked why he wasn't responding to the high-profile statements Özgür Özel has been making for some time, he said, 'I have instructions from our President. I am remaining silent in accordance with this instruction. He told me, 'Do not engage in polemics, and do not take Özgür Özel seriously.' I come from a background as a judge; entering into a struggle with Özel would be easy for me,' he said.

Akın Gürlek has filed a 1 million lira compensation lawsuit against Özel. He said, 'I have 4 title deeds. The statement that there are 4 title deeds also appears in the testimonies of those who inquired about these deeds. It will come out when the court requests the deeds,' he said. He stated that the total current value of the 4 title deeds does not exceed 40 million lira.

Regarding the residences produced in the MESA-Aktaş partnership, he said that the Minister made a payment of 9 million lira and sold them for 13 million lira during the final period of his deputy ministership.

I think it would be correct to apply to the Speaker of the Parliament to lift Özel's immunity. He said that Özel is panicking regarding the stories involving Muhittin Böcek and the situation in Manisa. He said that he is creating the title deed controversy to overshadow the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) trials. Gürlek said, 'If it weren't for our President's instructions, I would wage a very solid political struggle against Özel; that is the reason for our silence.'"
