AKP member Şamil Tayyar has called for 'justice to be applied equally' following the release of news anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, who was arrested as part of a drug investigation, to house arrest.

A decision has been reached regarding news anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, who had been in custody since December 2025 as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The court ruled for Cebeci's release under judicial control measures in the form of "house arrest."

Following this decision, a noteworthy post came from AKP's Tayyar.

Reminding the public of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was arrested as part of the same investigation, Tayyar stated that "justice must be applied equally" and called for Ersoy's release.
