Şamil Tayyar, who actively uses his social media account and does not refrain from criticizing his party with his posts, thanked the Ministry of Interior for the detention decision in his latest post.
Antalya Police Chief İlker Arslan had been suspended from his duty as part of an investigation conducted against him and was detained in the evening hours.
Tayyar shared a thank-you message for this detention decision and pointed to the dirty relationships Arslan had entered into with businessman Fazlı Ateş.
AKP's Şamil Tayyar shared the following lines:
"İlker Arslan.
Police Chief.
He mediated bribery between E.T., who received a tender from an Antalya Metropolitan Municipality subsidiary, and the municipality.
He obtained unfair gain from the dirty relationships he entered into through Fazlı Ateş.
His wife also had an SGK (Social Security Institution) registration at Ateş's company and was receiving regular monthly payments.
The prosecutor's office has issued a detention order for Arslan on the grounds of qualified fraud, bribery, and unjust acquisition of property.
On this occasion, I congratulate the Ministry of Interior for acting first and pursuing the allegations.
No one should take offense, everyone involved in dirty business will be held accountable, and they must be."
FAZLI ATEŞ'S POSTS WITH AKP FIGURES DREW ATTENTION
When looking at the posts on the social media account of businessman Fazlı Ateş, whom AKP's Tayyar pointed to, frames taken with AKP figures are seen. While it is noteworthy that Tayyar ended his words by saying 'everyone involved in dirty business will be held accountable, and they must be', the coming days will show which names the investigation will extend to.
MESSAGE FROM ŞAMİL TAYYAR THAT OPERATIONS WILL CONTINUE
Shortly after his post, AKP's Tayyar announced that the operations would not be limited to Police Chief İlker Arslan and would expand.
Tayyar used the following expressions in his new post:
"It will not be limited to Police Chief İlker Arslan, the Antalya operation seems to be growing even further.
I am not writing his name, duty, and title so as not to jeopardize the investigation.
A surprise 'dismissal' decision may come out on Monday.
I see the pursuit of allegations of fraud, bribery, and unfair gain regarding these individuals who use public power as a 'breakthrough'.
I hope there is more to come."
