AKP MKYK member Orhan Miroğlu reacted to the arrest of CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer and the appointment of a trustee in his place.
Miroğlu stated that these developments would negatively affect the 'process'—which has not yet been officially named—and the 'internal front' that is intended to be formed.
Criticizing the arrest of Kürd Öncüleri Association President Ali Çeven due to his remarks in a street interview, Miroğlu's post is as follows:
"As a supporter of a solution who shed tears twice while listening to the President's speech at the parliamentary group meeting on Wednesday, what I see, and what saddens me deeply while seeing it, is this:
-Unfortunately, those who do not want a solution have managed to barge into the climate of a solution like an elephant in a china shop. The scene left behind by a Kurdish youth's street interview might be better understood by those who study the political psychology of nations, but in terms of 'impact power,' it may have rivaled the speech of our President, who managed to make Kurds cry once again with his speech at the group meeting!
-Then, for the first time, the reminder of the 'title deeds' that Kurds possess in Istanbul to Turks, by someone said to be a Kurdish girl accompanied by Kurdish music, must be a flawless 'innovation'! This 'Kurdish girl' was calling out to Turks as follows: Kurds have seized the title deeds of Istanbul, you don't even have a homeland anymore.”
"IT SERVES THE LACK OF A SOLUTION"
- Aside from all this, if the evidence cited as the reason for Ahmet Özer's arrest is as we know from the press—that is, if it is based on reasons such as a Rojda concert (let us say it here: in a city where five million Kurds live, even if Ahmet Özer doesn't organize these concerts, someone else will; it is enough to go on the internet and see the concerts Mem Ararat gave in Istanbul) or a condolence call, and if rental income has been evidenced as money coming from the organization, it should not be difficult to see that the political result of the arrest will again serve not a solution, but the lack of a solution, and will serve to keep Kurds within the 'national psychology' that some want to keep them in.
-Those who say that the solution will not be affected by all these developments are mistaken. It will be badly affected. After all, they even prevented Turkey from discussing the Group speech, which is in the nature of a manifesto for Turkey's Internal Front, in all its aspects!
I can hear you saying let's not lose hope, but the political memory of the past process is unfortunately shaped by the photo of a Kurdish youth in handcuffs who said he was “not Turkish” in a street interview, and the video shot by a “Kurdish Girl” who called out to Turks saying you don't even have a homeland anymore because the title deeds are in the hands of the Kurds!
Despite everything, there is no other choice but to continue the struggle to create a “climate of solution” from this environment."
