AKP MP's 'New Constitution will mention Kurds' statement! 'The way will be paved for some things...'

The terrorist organization PKK announced the decisions of its so-called congress held on May 5-7 and declared that it has dissolved itself.

AKP Diyarbakır MP Suna Kepolu Ataman made striking remarks in an interview with Rudaw before the terrorist organization PKK's announcement on laying down arms.

Speaking with praise for MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, the architect of the new reconciliation process, Ataman said, "Devlet Bahçeli nailed his colors to the mast; his call was so significant. We all felt relieved, and hope entered our hearts."

"THE NEW CONSTITUTION WILL MENTION KURDS AND THE WAY WILL BE PAVED FOR SOME THINGS"

Stating that new duties will fall upon the parliament in the coming period, Ataman recalled the 'civilian constitution' statement by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and said, "I expect the Constitution will mention Kurds and the way will be paved for some things."

Ataman's statements are as follows:

"The AK Party and the People's Alliance want the PKK to lay down its arms and dissolve itself. From now on, certain duties will fall on the shoulders of the parliament. Mr. Erdoğan has been talking about a 'civilian constitution' for a long time. He says, 'This constitution is a product of the military coup era, and we want to change it.'

I think some changes will be made to this constitution. I expect the Constitution will mention Kurds and the way will be paved for some things.

Of course, the PKK will also have conditions regarding laying down arms, but we do not know their conditions. The DEM Party had made some demands on behalf of the PKK or the PKK leader. I assume some of their demands will also be met.

In the coming days, a civilian constitution, a new constitution, will be created in which all the people of Turkey will live in brotherhood and unity. Kurds and Turks saved this country together."

Ataman answered the question, "Is there a guarantee that the process will succeed?" as follows:

"I do not believe the world wants Kurdish-Turkish brotherhood because they know that if Kurds and Turks come together and their brotherhood is established, they will determine their own decisions and destinies. But in the end, no one will be able to block this. Kurdish-Turkish brotherhood will succeed."
