AKP municipal council member killed in armed attack
Mehmet Anıl Yüksel, an AKP municipal council member in the Havran district of Balıkesir, has lost his life following an armed attack.

According to the information obtained, AKP Havran Municipal Council member Mehmet Anıl Yüksel was seriously injured after being subjected to an armed attack by an unidentified person or persons in the district center in the evening hours.
Following the initial intervention by medical teams called to the scene, Yüksel was taken to Edremit State Hospital and underwent surgery, but lost his life despite all interventions.
While extensive security measures were taken in the region following the attack, a large-scale investigation was launched by teams from the Havran District Police Department and the Balıkesir Provincial Police Department to apprehend the perpetrators.
In a statement on social media, AKP Balıkesir Provincial Chairman Mehmet Aydemir said, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our valued companion Mehmet Anıl Yüksel. We wish God's mercy upon our late brother and extend our condolences to his family and our organization. We will follow the process to ensure that the perpetrators receive the necessary punishment before the law." The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
