MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli is the architect of the second resolution process—which the government calls a "Turkey Without Terrorism"—being conducted with the DEM Party and the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, and all eyes have now turned to the "legal regulations."
According to a report by the Sabah newspaper, known for its proximity to the government, it is stated that the AKP is preparing to establish a commission consisting of legal experts regarding these legal regulations, and that the joint report to be prepared by this commission will serve as the basis.
Allegedly, a legal commission will be formed under the chairmanship of AKP Group Deputy Chairman Abdulhamit Gül. In addition to Justice Commission Chairman Cüneyt Yüksel, it is planned that certain names from the party headquarters will also be included in the commission. It is stated that the AKP will prepare a framework legislative text based on the "Report for a Turkey Without Terrorism" that it submitted to the TBMM National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission.
NUMAN KURTULMUŞ WILL BE THE "FACILITATOR"
While it is stated that the AKP will establish contact with other political parties after completing the preparation process, it was noted that Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş will assume a "facilitator role" in the legal process.
AKP officials stated, "Our goal will be to pass the fundamental law before Parliament goes on recess in July. We intend to share the scope of the law to be enacted with the public, and to legislate it after confirmation and verification."
