AKP reacts to CHP figure's call to retired military personnel
The move by CHP's Yankı Bağcıoğlu has drawn a reaction from the AKP. AKP Spokesperson Çelik described the call as "an act of shortsightedness that would place retired soldiers into an extremely wrong framework."

Making a statement on his social media account, Ömer Çelik noted the following:
"It is a highly irresponsible approach for CHP Deputy Chairman Mr. Yankı Bağcıoğlu to call on retired soldiers to take action in order to influence the disciplinary mechanism affiliated with the Ministry of National Defense.
Even though Mr. Bağcıoğlu is a retired soldier, he is currently the deputy chairman of a political party; the call he made naturally has a 'political' character.
"TRYING TO GENERATE POLITICAL ACTIVITY THROUGH OUR RETIRED SOLDIERS IS WRONG FROM START TO FINISH"
Such a call is an act of shortsightedness that would place our retired soldiers into an extremely wrong framework.
It is wrong from start to finish for a CHP Deputy Chairman to try to generate political activity through our retired soldiers.
Expressing a political opinion is one thing, but taking action to influence military mechanisms is another. Making a call for street protests to influence military mechanisms has nothing to do with democracy. This call cannot be defined as anything other than an attempt to revive the image of tutelage."
