AKP reacts to Perinçek, who said 'The army and police will not allow the CHP': 'With the desire to stage a coup...'
Vatan Party leader Doğu Perinçek's remarks that 'Even if the CHP receives 90 percent of the votes, it cannot come to power. Even if the people vote for it, in the final analysis, neither the army nor the police would agree to this' have drawn reactions from AKP figures. Former AKP MP Mehmet Metiner said, 'No to the coup-plotting and tutelary mentality,' while AKP MKYK member Orhan Miroğlu stated, 'These are people who have spent their entire political lives with the desire to stage a coup and who will die with unfinished business if they pass away without having staged a coup to their liking!'

Vatan Party Chairman Doğu Perinçek's statement during a television program he attended, "Even if the CHP receives 90 percent of the votes, it cannot come to power. The people will not give this support, nor will the army, nor will the police. Even if the people vote for it, in the final analysis, neither the army nor the police would agree to this," has sparked reactions.
While CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır responded to Perinçek with the words, "You tassel of Kandil! Shut your mouth, know your place!", AKP figures also joined the debate.
AKP'S METİNER TO PERİNÇEK: NO TO THE COUP-PLOTTING AND TUTELARY MENTALITY
Former AKP MP and Yeni Şafak columnist Mehmet Metiner made a statement on his social media account titled "No to the coup-plotting and tutelary mentality."
Metiner included the following statements in his declaration:
"Regardless of which party it is, if the people have elected it at the ballot box, it certainly has the right to come to power.
Saying that the army and police will not allow a party that the people have elected to power at the ballot box is an expression of a clearly coup-plotting mentality.
The AK Party, which considers every kind of coup-plotting and tutelary mentality as its adversary, naturally views and rejects such expressions as a threat directed at democracy and the national will, no matter who they come from.
It is our President himself who has clearly demonstrated his stance on this issue by saying, 'We do not recognize any power above the will of the people!'
This is also one of the reasons for our AK Party's political existence.
Opposing every kind of consideration that poisons democratic politics and attaches conditions and requirements to the nation's right to sovereignty, more than anyone else and before anyone else, is a debt of honor and a requirement of the principled stance of our AK Party.
If a principled, joint stance is not displayed together against this coup-plotting and tutelary mentality—which was said for all the National View (Milli Görüş) parties starting with the MNP in the past and is voiced in this context for our AK Party on every platform—the loser will be our democracy.
It is unthinkable for us to remain silent today in the face of this mentality, which we opposed with violence and fury when it was done to us in the past.
This would mean a denial of our reason for existence.
We are completely against every kind of coup-plotting and tutelary understanding.
No matter who says it, such considerations are, for us, the considerations that must be fought against politically.
There is no 'but' to this matter.
This is a principled stance.
Let everyone know that there can be no power that will not allow a party that the nation has elected to power at the ballot box. We do not accept those who even think of this as a legitimate power.
And let everyone know that we stand against every power that tries to prevent or overthrow a party that has emerged from the ballot box as the government.
It is certainly shameful that this mentality can still be defended in the New Turkey.
Remaining silent in the face of this mentality is also shameful.
The Century of Turkey will be a democratic and libertarian century where sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation.
Our AK Party's struggle is for this."

“PEOPLE WHO HAVE SPENT THEIR POLITICAL LIVES WITH THE DESIRE TO STAGE A COUP”
Another reaction to Perinçek's words from within the AKP came from Orhan Miroğlu.
AKP MKYK member Miroğlu, quoting Metiner's statement, said, "These are people who have spent their entire political lives with the desire to stage a coup and who will die with unfinished business if they pass away without having staged a coup to their liking." Miroğlu asked, "How is it that those who would stage a coup even today if they had the opportunity and could convince two generals, and who still applaud a coup that sent Menderes and his friends to the gallows on the anniversaries of May 27, can be the Joseph Fouchés of every era?" and added the following:
"These are people who have spent their entire political lives with the desire to stage a coup and who will die with unfinished business if they pass away without having staged a coup to their liking!. Time flows by, someone surely takes them by the hand and reunites them with the power circles of the era, thus coups are forgotten or made to be forgotten, but they always remain on the agenda, they are never forgotten, always remembered.
How is it that those who would stage a coup even today if they had the opportunity and could convince two generals, and who still applaud a coup that sent Menderes and his friends to the gallows on the anniversaries of May 27, can be the Joseph Fouchés of every era! (Oh, how unfortunate and how sad for our literature, we don't even have a Stefan Zweig to describe the local and national Joseph Fouchés!)
I must confess, as a victim of coups, what I lament is that the political environments created by the fact that coup plotters can somehow cling to power in every era and be treated as 'intellectuals' are ignored by the intellectuals of this country who play the three monkeys.
Turkey, no matter what anyone says, is not a country that has managed to face its coups, period!"
These are people who have spent their entire political lives with the desire to stage a coup and who will die with unfinished business if they pass away without having staged a coup to their liking!.
