AKP's Varank accuses former Minister of National Education Hüseyin Çelik of FETÖ ties: 'We know very well'
AKP Bursa Deputy Mustafa Varank made statements regarding former Minister of National Education Hüseyin Çelik, saying, "We know very well what kind of Akın İpek puppet and FETÖ messenger Hüseyin Çelik—who is declared a champion of democracy and law on opposition screens today—is, and why he is acting out again today."

Claiming that Çelik targeted those who fought against FETÖ during the closure of private tutoring centers, the Gezi Park protests, and the December 17/25 process, Varank also alleged that Çelik had threatened them during that period.
Varank included the following statements in his post:
“To record this in history, let me share a memory of ours...
The person in question is Hüseyin Çelik, who has recently become a favorite of opposition media and has even stooped so low as to imply that the July 15 coup attempt was 'dubious'.
During that period when private tutoring centers were being closed, the Gezi events broke out, the December 17/25 conspiracies were orchestrated, and the groundwork for the coup was being laid, we were fighting against FETÖ in every field and exposing their true faces and hypocrisy.
In those days, while still under the roof of the AK Party, Hüseyin Çelik came to us and threatened us in his own mind by saying: 'WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? MELEK ANNE IS VERY, VERY UPSET. IF YOU CONTINUE LIKE THIS, IT IS NOT CLEAR WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU'.
The person he referred to as 'Melek Anne' was the mother of the fugitive FETÖ financier Akın İpek.
Of course, he received the answer he deserved, and we did not deviate from our path.
Immediately after this issue, we were first targeted by Fethullah Gülen himself, our phones were illegally wiretapped, we were included in fabricated audio recordings, and then our names were sprinkled into the conspiracy cases as they sought to convict us.
Yes, we know very well what kind of Akın İpek puppet and FETÖ messenger Hüseyin Çelik—who gives lectures on democracy and law on opposition screens today—is, and what the source of his grudge is today.
Let our nation know as well...”
To record this in history, let me share a memory of ours...
