AKP Sakarya Provincial Vice Chair Yusuf Gökdemir was injured by a stray bullet that struck the back of his neck while he was sitting in a garden in Karasu.

AKP Sakarya Provincial Vice Chair Yusuf Gökdemir was injured and transported to the hospital after being struck in the back of the neck by a stray bullet while sitting in a garden in the Karasu district of Sakarya.

According to the information received, AKP Sakarya Provincial Vice Chair and Head of Local Governments Yusuf Gökdemir felt a pain in the back of his neck while sitting in a garden in the Yuvalıdere neighborhood.

 After blood began to flow from the area, the situation was reported to medical teams. Following initial intervention at the scene, Gökdemir was transferred to Sakarya Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that Gökdemir, who is undergoing treatment there, is in good condition, and an investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Regarding the issue, AKP Sakarya Provincial Chair Yunus Tever made the following statement on social media:

“I convey my get-well wishes to our Provincial Vice Chair and fellow party member Yusuf Gökdemir, who was injured due to a stray bullet while sitting in a garden in Karasu Yuvalıdere. Thank God, I have received information that our brother Yusuf is not in life-threatening danger. I wish him a speedy recovery from Almighty God. Let us never forget that the recently increasing incidents of celebratory gunfire could cause the loss of an innocent life at any moment. The person hit could be your sibling or your child. Let us put an end to this now.”
