Ömer Çelik wrote the following on his social media account:
“It is very disturbing that a series that distorts the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation and engages in propaganda for the Greek Cypriot side will be broadcast on a film platform starting September 20. We cannot accept the intervention that brought peace and established justice being targeted by Greek Cypriot propaganda. Through this series, the Cyprus Peace Operation, the heroic Turkish soldier, peace, and justice cannot be targeted.”
Speaking to AA, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar also said, “I am left wondering how such an organization could become a tool for such black propaganda; I say it is thought-provoking. I say it is unbecoming. It truly needs to be condemned, and we do condemn it.”
