AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement regarding a 'terror-free Turkey' in a post on his social media account.

Ömer Çelik's statements are as follows:

Our President's call to strengthen the “internal front” in our country is an expression of the will to protect and advance our country's values and gains in an increasingly unstable world. Its reflection in our immediate region is the updating and construction of a “front of brotherhood” among the peoples and states of the region. This is the protection of the rights and laws of humanity and all brotherly peoples against those who “try to turn the world into hell” through imperialist wars of partition.

The goal of a “terror-free Turkey” is the political framework for these developments in all their dimensions. Achieving the goal of a “terror-free Turkey” will not only strengthen our country's immune system against all kinds of political chaos projects but will also serve as a source of inspiration for our immediate geography. It will create an opportunity to prevent certain powers in our immediate geography from creating “proxy wars” by using terrorist organizations. Thus, these centers will be deprived of the ground to create conflict among various ethnic and sectarian groups in our immediate region. This will allow for the establishment of healthier dialogue channels among all social and political dynamics in our immediate region.

“We have explained the dimensions and principles of the 'terror-free Turkey' goal many times with the clearest sentences to date. Despite this, we see that the smear campaign by some circles continues. We are aware of those who throw political smoke bombs and produce provocations to prevent the goal from being reached. It is seen that those who carry out these campaigns cannot read the developments in our immediate region correctly, and do not even have accurate information about basic facts. Those who hold these approaches also lack a political framework and a political compass to steer the conditions that our immediate region and the world are going through.”

Achieving the goal of a “terror-free Turkey” will provide strategic contributions to the strengthening of our country's “internal front.” It will give a strong “political energy” to our Republic and democratic politics. It will generate opportunities to refresh our citizenship, which is essentially based on a shared destiny, along the axis of the fundamental principles of our Republic.

With the achievement of the “terror-free Turkey” goal within the framework of the principles we have underlined many times so far, an opportunity will arise to respond to a world that has come unhinged by building a “front of brotherhood” in our region with new strength.

The call made from İmralı regarding the PKK's need to dissolve itself and lay down arms must transition to a stage aimed at ending terrorism with all its illegal and armed elements and the terrorist organization ceasing to be a part of the “proxy wars” of external actors.

Every positive step that may develop in the coming days regarding the terrorist organization laying down its arms and dissolving itself will invite the next positive step. We are meticulously monitoring every stage.
