AKP Spokesperson Çelik: We view the attack on Mr. Özel as an attack on ourselves

Çelik made statements regarding the MYK meeting:

-The Turkish Cypriot cause is one of our priorities. We will continue to take steps in this regard. It is valuable that hundreds of thousands of people gathered in the TRNC as part of TEKNOFEST. The interest of the youth revealed a completely different picture.

-Messages coming from the Greek side are statements that deny the existence of two peoples and two states; regardless of what anyone says, this is the case. If there is to be a basis for dialogue, it will be this way, but we declare that there will be no solution by denying the Turkish Cypriots.

-We bid farewell to Sırrı Süreyya Önder on his final journey. We had long sessions with him recently; we have known each other for many years. Politics was always on our agenda, but we would talk about cinema and philosophy. Recently, our agenda was a Turkey without terrorism. He was using all his capacity for this. He was emphasizing that the process should end quickly. We worked together during the solution process and the brotherhood project period.

-Sırrı Süreyya's daughter, Ceren, gave a very impressive speech. What she said here is that it is classless. Even those who were in complete opposition to Sırrı said they were ready to donate blood at the hospital. Even if our names are different, our surname is the Republic of Turkey. Hopefully, by supporting this process and reaching a Turkey without terrorism, we will have kept Sırrı Süreyya's memory alive.

"ALL DIFFERENCES DISAPPEAR"

-We condemn the attack on CHP Chairman Özgür Özel once again. We condemn the attack on Mr. Özel as an attack on politics as a whole, on our democracy, and on ourselves. When violence is involved, all differences disappear. This is an attack on our democracy. We also condemn the ugly remarks directed at Özel's family. Our police are following the matter closely, and the necessary actions will be taken before the law.

-We are following the process of a Turkey without terrorism very closely. After the call from İmralı, we expect the PKK to dissolve and lay down its arms. It will also be a source of inspiration for the region. It will present a stance against those who create fault lines based on sects and ethnic groups. We will continue to work to reach the goal of a Turkey without terrorism and our goal of strengthening the internal front.

"WE SEE THAT THERE ARE PROVOCATIONS"

-After our President's call to strengthen the internal front, and following Bahçeli's call, this has turned into a state policy. We see that there are various provocations; the game we are primarily focused on is to move forward on this path while protecting the fundamental values of our state.
