AKP's earthquake zone candidates announced

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the AKP Candidate Introduction Meeting held at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Congresium. The AKP announced its local election candidates, primarily for the 11 provinces affected by the February 6 earthquakes.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the AKP Candidate Introduction Meeting held at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Congresium. The AKP announced its candidates for the 11 provinces affected by the February 6 earthquakes: Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Adana, Kilis, and Elazığ. Additionally, the AKP will not field a candidate in Osmaniye and will support the MHP candidate.

The candidates are as follows:

Kahramanmaraş – Fırat Görgel (AKP Kahramanmaraş Provincial Chairman)

Hatay – Mehmet Öntürk (Former Hatay MP)

Adıyaman – Ziya Polat (Governor of Kars)

Gaziantep – Fatma Şahin (Incumbent mayor)

Malatya – Sami Er

Diyarbakır – Mehmet Halis Bilden (Former General Manager of TİGEM)

Adana – Fatih Mehmet Kocaispir (Mayor of Yüreğir)

Kilis – Reşit Polat (Former AKP MP)

Şanlıurfa – Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül (Incumbent mayor)

Elazığ – Şahin Şerifoğulları
