While the AKP's legislative efforts to prevent children under 15 from accessing social media applications continue, and following the connection of recent violent acts to the internet, the new measures to be taken on the subject have become clear.

AKP Chairman Erdoğan stated in his remarks after the Cabinet Meeting that they would also take measures regarding VPNs.

Here are Erdoğan's statements:

We will introduce the obligation for identity verification and information sharing for social media platforms.

Taking technical measures against VPNs is of great importance.

I believe that the law currently being discussed in our Parliament, which prevents children under 15 from entering social networks, will fill a major gap.

We will further strengthen our visible and invisible presence in the dark corridors of the internet by also utilizing artificial intelligence.
