İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener spoke at her party's iftar dinner in Ankara. In her speech, Akşener expressed her thoughts regarding Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP candidate for the new term, Mansur Yavaş

Drawing on human rights activist Malcolm X's 'master-slave' quote, Akşener said of Yavaş, "Mansur Yavaş is exactly this. He has now become a house slave to the CHP Headquarters."

Here is a summary of Akşener's speech:

“In 2023, when our nation's voice was suppressed, we were the ones who shouted that voice. However, it turns out that when the thief is from within, the door cannot be locked. One cannot get anywhere with those who only think about their own seats. Winning Istanbul, Ankara, and Adana is not enough to win Turkey. Faced with this entire picture, we stand against those who sit idly in the shadow of alliance politics today.

They want a politics without the nation, and we reject it. They want us to tag along behind them, and we are resisting. Next Sunday, we are entering the elections as the İYİ Party.

We are paving the way for a free and independent politics where our nation is the subject. Our story is a story of courage that overcomes every obstacle. We have been the ones who stood against tyranny and tyrants in every period. In 2019, when Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş was prevented from being a candidate again from the CHP, which he had resigned from, we were by his side. When İmamoğlu received a prison sentence, we were the only ones who ran to Saraçhane."

"THE TYRANTS OF TODAY"

"Instead of showing respect for the decision we made today, it was the İYİ Party that they all betrayed one by one. The victims of yesterday, whom we ran to support when they were treated unjustly, have become the tyrants of today. Since we made the decision to enter the elections freely and independently, our municipal council members in Antalya and Istanbul have been forced to resign. But the ugliest of the bargains took place in Ankara.

In fact, Mansur Yavaş confessed what happened with his own mouth. He said that the provincial and district chairs who resigned from our party were working with him. I was truly surprised when I watched it, but let there be no misunderstanding, we knew these things; I was surprised that he confessed it. I was surprised by this lack of awareness that boasts of such immorality. I was also surprised by this audacity, confidence, and courage that he wanted to see but could not see 12 months ago."

'MASTER-SLAVE'

Malcolm X says, 'There are two types of slaves in history. One is the house slave, the other is the field slave.' The house slave is the slave who lives close to his master. He lives in the master's house, in the attic or the basement. He dresses like his master, wears his master's used clothes, and loves his master more than he loves himself. In his film Django, the famous director Tarantino also refers to these words of Malcolm X with a character named Stephen, a house slave who is the embodiment of being more royalist than the king, having completely surrendered his will to the owner of his will.

Mansur Yavaş is exactly this. He has now become a house slave to the CHP Headquarters. Therefore, it is natural for this friend of ours, who acts like a lion when it comes to the İYİ Party, to display a docile and obedient attitude when the subject is the CHP.

And he has the nerve to come out and say, 'I call Ms. Meral sister.' This has become quite fashionable now. Whoever needs something or finds it convenient immediately starts the 'sister' rhetoric. I am truly tired of CHP officials calling me 'sister' to my face and then having me and my party cursed and insulted in their comrade media."
