Ali Erbaş contradicts the Diyanet

Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş’s remarks to Nagehan Alçı of Habertürk have drawn public attention. Erbaş’s comment regarding the criticisms directed at him, 'They begrudged the Audi for the Diyanet Affairs President,' sparked controversy. There was another topic in the interview that stood out: The evening market.

While the public is struggling with poverty, the Diyanet, which frequently makes headlines for the billions in budget it receives, had previously suggested, "Go to the market in the evening to buy things cheaper."

"NO ONE SAID A SINGLE THING"

Erbaş responded as follows to Alçı's question regarding the evening market:

"Neither I nor anyone associated with us said a single thing about the evening market. However, all kinds of lies are being circulated. There are still those who believe I have a house in London. These lies never end."

DİYANET’S MAGAZINE: WAIT FOR EVENING HOURS

Although Erbaş said "these lies never end" in his response, the January 2020 issue of the 'Aile' magazine, published by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), did advise, "Wait for evening hours to buy things cheaper."

In the article titled "How to shop at the market economically?", advice such as "Tour the entire market to learn the prices," "Wait for evening hours to buy things cheaper," and "Shop from the same vendor to get quality and cheaper items" was provided.

Even though Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş says 'these lies never end,' the advice given regarding market shopping in the 'Aile' magazine, which his institution publishes, is as follows;

• Before going shopping, you should definitely make a list and stick to it. One of the golden rules of market shopping is to check all the prices. If you walk around the entire market area and get a handle on the prices, you will make the most affordable purchase.
• Since the prices of products will drop towards the evening, you can take advantage of the evening market and shop more with less expense.
• If you shop regularly from the same vendor's stall, the vendor will select fresh and quality products for you and give them to you at a reasonable price.
• Since it is quite difficult to both shop and manage bags while carrying products, you can get a market cart and have a much more comfortable shopping experience.
