Before the visit of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Boğaziçi University, an email had been sent to students and staff one day in advance, informing them that classes and work would be conducted online.

On the other hand, the visit also drew attention due to the security measures taken.

Despite this, Erdoğan's visit took place amidst protests that had been ongoing on campus for days. During this time, students were detained for carrying banners.

THEY PRESENTED AK YOUTH MEMBERS AS 'BOĞAZİÇİ STUDENTS'

Sharing a photo that surfaced in the public eye following the visit, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır said that the young people in the photo were AKP youth members, but they were presented to the public as 'Boğaziçi Students'.

Reacting to the security measures taken on campus, Başarır said, "They even took photos with AK Youth members and presented them as 'Boğaziçi students'. If this isn't shamelessness, what is?"

Başarır made a statement on his social media account regarding the events at the Boğaziçi University campus. In his statement, Başarır said the following:

"What is happening at Boğaziçi University is a complete display of malicious governance! Closing the campus to its true owners—the students, professors, and staff—just because Erdoğan is coming... Forcing young people out of their dorms at the crack of dawn... Filling every corner with police at every step... If all this isn't out of fear, then what is it? They even took photos with AK Youth members and presented them as 'Boğaziçi students'! If this isn't shamelessness, what is? No! You will not be able to suppress social opposition with pressure, barricades, and lies! You will go with your fear!"
