Ali Yerlikaya announces: 1 soldier martyred

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Mehmet Ali Yıldırım has been martyred.

Yerlikaya wrote the following:

"Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Mehmet Ali YILDIRIM, serving under the Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie Command, was severely injured while descending from a rocky area during an operation. Despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken, he could not be saved and has been martyred.

I wish God's mercy upon our martyr; I extend my condolences to his family, our Gendarmerie Organization, and our Nation.

May our martyr's place be high"
